A taste from the outskirts of Sri Lanka: Ceylon Tea

Tea, which is the constant drink of Turkey, is served in many different ways. However, in recent years, Ceylon tea , which is a frequently preferred species, is also very popular in various parts of the world.

Thanks to the flavor and benefits brought by its aromatic structure, tea, which is in demand, has been among the indispensable drinks for a long time.

What is Ceylon Tea?

Ceylon tea, which takes its flavor and smell from the conditions in which it is grown, is the world famous drink of Sri Lanka. It is often preferred because it is lighter to drink than other teas without sugar. There are black, green and white Ceylon teas according to their brewing methods, benefits and aromas. Since different tea leaves emerge according to the height at which they are grown, their smell, taste and aroma are also different.

Where Does Ceylon Tea Grow?

Ceylon tea is grown in Sri Lanka, the world's fourth largest tea producer. The former name of the region in the south of India is also known as Ceylon. Due to its climate and soil structure, harvesting is done by hand, not by machine, in the country, which has the opportunity to harvest uninterruptedly throughout the year. Ceylon tea has larger leaves than other teas grown in Turkey. The color of tea leaves is classified according to the region where it grows. Growing at an altitude of 450-550 meters, tea is more burgundy and brown in color as it stays in plenty of sunlight. Since it is lighter in taste, it is mixed with high cut teas grown at 550-1000 meters. High-cut teas, which have an intense aroma, become lighter in color with the effect of dry and cold winds.

How to Brew Ceylon Tea?

One of the most important elements that give flavor to tea is how it is brewed. At the same time, you can enhance its flavor by making your tea with freshly boiled drinking water. On the other hand, it does not prevent the flavor of a teapot that you clean the residues in it. Brewing Ceylon tea , like many other teas, begins with boiling the water. After pouring the boiled water into the teapot, you should wait for it to brew for 15-20 minutes. You can extend or shorten your brewing time according to your taste. You can enjoy the real taste of your drink by consuming your tea without sugar.

Ceylon tea storage conditions

It is also very important to store tea in suitable conditions. Putting Ceylon tea in a ceramic container and keeping it in a dry and cool place at 30 degrees or below provides long-term use.
